- Vacuum your mattress once a month – Cleaning your mattress is necessary for your health and for the life of the mattress as well. Dust and bugs tend to accumulate and breed in the mattress especially if it gets damp often. Taking your mattress out and placing it in a sunny place can also help eliminate bugs and bacteria.
- Remove stains immediately – Granting that you opt not to buy a mattress topper, you need to remove stains immediately or else it will become harder to remove later. Use natural cleaning ingredients or less harsh fabric cleaner. Scrubbing the mattress is strongly discouraged for it will only make stains look much worse and difficult to remove.
